This was an absolute blast! Definitely worth the price. The tour guide was very knowledgeable, the scenery was fantastic. - Ian
We enjoyed this tour from start to finish. Our driver on the 3-hour trip from Durban to Underberg, and back, was friendly and knowledgeable, giving us plenty of information about the changing landscape and the people, animals and birds that lived there. But the real tour began when we boarded our 4X4s to make the journey from Underberg through the Sani Pass to Lesotho. It's about 35 km from Underbeg to the South African border post, and less than 10 km from there to the Lesotho border post -- but those last 10 km are on some of the most rugged roads we have ever encountered, and through some of the most beautiful scenery. That part of the ride alone took 90 minutes with plenty of time to stop and soak in the views. Once in Lesotho, we enjoyed our opportunity to visit a traditional village of the Basotho People and later a chance to sample Maluti lager -- made from pure mountain water and available only in Lesotho. It was served at a restaurant that bills itself as the Highest Pub in Africa. It was a long day but packed with new experiences. We would highly recommend it. - Brian
Wonderful tour. The initial driver gave us a very informative ride to meet our second guide Mo. We switched to a 4 x 4 vehicle and had an amazing ride to the Kingdom in the sky. Had the pleasure of meeting the local people of Lesotho and seeing how they live. Ended with lunch and drinks at the highest pub in Africa. - Eddie
I had an incredible experience. On Sunday morning I was collected from my residence by Thabo, who had already picked up the American couple joining the tour that day. From the very beginning, Thabo was warm, engaging, and incredibly knowledgeable. He prepared us beautifully for what was to come, sharing rich history and cultural insight as we travelled towards Underberg. His storytelling truly set the tone for the experience. In Underberg, we were handed over to Mondli and wow. There is such depth, strength, and lived knowledge in him. You can feel that he has a real connection to the place. He grew up near the area, and as he guided us up Sani Pass, sharing local history, personal memories, and cultural context, it added layers of meaning to what we were seeing. We stopped at several viewpoints to take in the landscape, breathe, and reflect. Those moments I am deeply grateful for. Crossing the border into Lesotho felt like entering another world. The mountain landscape is striking and beautifully preserved, untouched by modern rush and noise. We visited a local home, tasted traditional bread, and were welcomed by Basotho women who shared aspects of their daily life and culture. It was an incredible experience. Later in the afternoon, we had lunch and met Sandile, another guide who carried the same spirit of great professionalism and warmth. We also met another traveller who had completed her overnight tour and joined us for the drive back to Durban from Underberg. Descending Sani Pass and returning to Durban felt like its own tour. Truly, the day felt like three tours in one. Rich, layered, and thoughtfully paced. By the time we reached Underberg again, I was overwhelmed by gratitude. I had dreamed of doing this tour but did not know how or when it would happen. It felt like God's perfect timing. Back in Thabo's care for the return to Durban, we shared stories, reflection, and laughter. The perfect ending to a perfect day. As a high school teacher, I was especially moved by the excellence that Mondli, Thabo and Sandile carried throughout the day. I found myself thinking about how powerful it is for young people to see adults work with such pride and purpose. Since public schools reopened on 15 January 2026 I have been talking about my experience to both my students and colleagues. Not only about the tour, but also about what excellence can look like in practice. I cannot overstate how much I enjoyed this experience. I am overflowing with joy, gratitude, and a sense of awe. Highly recommended. ????? - Busisiwe
It was an absolutely enjoyable and well organised tour. Both your guides (Hosanna & Aldo) were well informed, polite, friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the whole day. Safe drive by both of them, good and sincere conversation during the rides, breathtaking scenery (despite the mist and the drizzle in Sani Pass), excellent lunch in Masoba Soba. Scenery and staff are highly appreciated and rated. - Theodoros
